There are folklore tales about luring people out with the sound of azuki beans, causing them to fall into ditches or off cliffs. Another story describes a being singing, “Shall I grind the azuki beans, or shall I catch and eat someone?” while washing the beans, distracting people and leading them to the riverbank, where they fall in.
